Joelle Gates is proud to have an outstanding history with Broadway’s longest running musical – The Phantom of the Opera. She made her Broadway debut in the principal role of Meg Giry and also performed with the National Touring and Las Vegas Spectacular productions of the show. During her continued association, she progressed into the managerial positions of Dance Captain, Resident Choreographer and Assistant Choreographer. Joelle lived in Germany for several years while working on the German language production, Das Phantom der Oper. Additionally, she helped set the World Tour of The Phantom of the Opera beginning in Manila, the Portugese language production in São Paulo, and the first ever Mandarin language production in Shanghai.
As a proud member of Actors’ Equity Association, additional credits include: West Side Story; Camelot; Cinderella; Kiss Me, Kate; La Cage Aux Folles; Gigi; Chess; Gypsy; and On The Town. She holds a B.F.A. from The Juilliard School.
Joelle began studying dance in her hometown of Pittsburgh, PA and is forever thankful for the extraordinary educators of her youth who guided and encouraged her. She is thrilled to now be sharing her passion for dance and theatre with the students at BW CAS.
